Attention Whore.
Attention Whore is a live performance piece that examines concepts of simulation theory and the impacts on my mental health due to societal pressures. This performance features a projector connected to a Mac laptop that is on the Photo Booth app. Quite conceded, image obsessed, but deeply insecure, Miss America gets ready for a night out. Accompanied by Kid Cudi, Vayda, she cosplays as a hyper feminine version of herself, confronting matters of Black feminism, and the sexual objectification of Black bodies. control of my own sexual objectification. Set in her art studio, staged as a bedroom, Miss America is running late as always to meet her partner. On the way out, she stops to take a few selfies to be greeted by a iPhone Storage full message. Turns out she’s really tired of running out of storage.

It Takes a Village.
It Takes a Village is a commissioned piece by an Ancient Doula organization with a focus on healthy child birth and aftercare for Black Mothers in New York, New York. This piece encompasses Black American symbols of care and community through displaying practices of ancient healing methods through a digital art piece. This work takes place in the Brooklyn Brownstone, a symbol of family and connection and features a group of young adults and a few elders coming together to provide post birth aftercare to a mother and her child.

American Showgirl.
American Showgirl is a prerecorded live performance featuring Miss America cosplaying as an American Eagle over Gil Scott-Heron’s work The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. The work features dancing, custom wings and sounds from Cardinal Birds, Blue Jays, and Crows. To present the work, it was mapped into a 4-panel wooden frame using an HD projector and white projection paper. American Showgirl is introducing viewers to Miss America, a symbol, a mascot, trophy, workhorse, help maid, servant.
